Director: Julian Gilbey
Released: 2014
Runtime: 102 minutes
Sam (played by Ed Speelers from Eragon and Love Bite) and Fordy (Will Poulter, The Maze Runner and We're The Millers) run a credit card scam where they steal credit cards from rich people. When they steal from the wrong man, they end up owing a gangster more than they can ever imagine.
Joined by Alfie Allen as Yatesey (Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones), Sebastian De Souza as Rafa (from Skins) and Emma Rigby as Frankie (from Hollyoaks) as the rest of the gang. Performances were pretty poor all round for me in this film. Whilst I enjoyed the idea of the film (based on a true story which didn't hold much cop either in my opinion), it was definitely lacking in a lot of areas.
IMDb has this listed under comedy. I have absolutely no idea why. There was nothing in this film that made me laugh. And this had absolutely nothing to do with my sense of humour (or lack of one), I failed to see the comedy, or even where the comedy would come from.
I had a look into the real story behind plastic, but it was pretty much the same and not really a lot to get excited about. A young adult decided to con people out of money, targeting high rollers and black/platinum card owners.
In my opinion, this film, although based on true events, tried too much to be The Bling Ring of British films. It failed. Miserably. They tried to doll up and glam out a teenage crime, but it didn't happen. I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the film, but it just was nothing special.
