We didn't set out to be superheroes. But sometimes life doesn't go the way you planned. The good thing is, my brother wanted to help a lot of people and that's what we're going to do. Who are we?
Released: 2014
Runtime: 102 minutes
Big Hero 6 (herein referred to as BH6) is an excellent family movie. Up until watching it, I've heard mixed reviews, some love it and others not so much.
I watched this with my children, as our chosen Saturday night movie. It was enjoyable. I don't know anything about the original comics so it was completely new to me. I didn't even know a lot about the story, and I hadn't watched any of the trailers. Basically, I knew it was about robots. That was all.
Anyways, back to the point, I found that it got a bit dull around the fifty minute mark, and that lasted for around twenty minutes, but it soon picked back up again as they got into the action.
Looking at the list of the voice cast, there aren't a great number of them that I have actually ever heard of. There were a couple that I have seen the odd thing from, but out of a total cast of over 30 actors, the only two whose work I was overly familiar with were Alan Tudyk and Maya Rudolph. I'm not saying that this is a bad thing though as I kind of enjoyed not trying to guess whose voice was whose (which is what I always do when watching animated movies).
The best thing in this movie for me was the relationship that developed between Hiro and Baymax. Especially at the end. Ahhhhhhhh.
