A Gift of Ghosts (Book One)
A Gift of Ghosts is a book written by Sarah Wynde (Check out her blog here)
I got the book from Amazon UK, as a free download. I have a habit of downloading free books, but this one sounded really good so I thought I’d move it to the top of my list.
I must say, I am really glad that I did make the decision to read this book next. The story was excellent. The writing was so easy to read, that I read through all 191 pages within a few days (and at the moment, that is something of a record for me).
The book is a romance story, which I don’t normally read, however, the inclusion of ghosts piqued my interest.
We meet Akira, a young scientist, who goes for an interview at a scientific research company. She is offered the job, and makes an on-the-spot decision to take it. She quits her current job, leaves her apartment and all her friends to move to Tassamara – all within a short space of time.
Zane is her boss (and from reading the story, in my imagination, a very attractive man). Zane is the man that interviews Akira for his family run business – offering her the world in her scientific area of study. Zane and his family also believe in areas of psychic ability. Zane’s father believes Akira may be the one to help their family with some areas that need ‘specialist’ help.
As well as being a fully qualified, and well educated scientist, Akira, has the ability to see and communicate with spirits. She has always kept it quiet for fear of people thinking she is crazy, but maybe all that is about to change.

A Gift of Thought (Book Two)
A Gift of Thought is the next book in the Tassamara series.
Following a few email exchanges between myself and the author, Sarah, I was provided with a free copy of the book in exchange for a book review on my blog, Amazon UK and Goodreads.
If you have read the first book, and enjoyed it, then this book is definitely for you. If you haven’t read the first story yet, I wouldn’t recommend reading this as there are a number of spoilers in this book from the first story. Check out my review for details of where to purchase the first book.
A Gift of Thought follows the story of Dillon, from the first book, and how he decides to try and get to know his mother.
We are introduced to Sylvie, Dillon’s mother, and a practising empath. We find out about why she left Dillon, and her steamy relationship with Lucas.
This book gives us more about Lucas. In A Gift of Ghosts, we were introduced to him as Zane’s brother working field jobs. In this one, we learn more about him, what he does and how he does it. A lot of the books focus is on the relationship between him and Sylvie, and Dillon’s attempts to get them to reconcile their differences.
Dillon, is the ghost from the first story. He is the reason Akira came to live in Tassamara. He has decided to spend time with his dad, which included being introduced to his mother. I know, if I was being introduced to a dead relative it would take me a long time to come to terms with it, but as psychic abilities tend to be second nature to most of the main characters in these books, it doesn’t take long for Sylvie to come around to the idea.
I really enjoyed this book. I found that as it focused on different characters, it has really started to paint a picture of the town of Tassamara, rather than the series centring on the same main people throughout.
There is a hint of romance, and a hint of the paranormal/supernatural in this story. I love a good freaky story so the latter would normally be my thing – however, the romance element added a nice tone to the story without taking away the main fact – that Tassamara is a Psychic town.
The only reason I have for not rating this book as highly as the first is that I found the character of Akira to be more appealing to me personally than Sylvie.

A Gift of Time (Book Three)
A Gift of Time is book number 3 in the Tassamara series.
Following a few email exchanges between myself and the author, Sarah, I was provided with a free copy of the book in exchange for a book review on my blog, Amazon UK and Goodreads.
If you have read the other books in this series then I would definitely recommend reading this one. I would not recommend it as a standalone book as a lot of the characters have already been introduced in previous stories.
A Gift of Time follows the story of Natalya. Natalya is the sister of Zane, and future sister-in-law to Akira (my favourite character in the series).
As readers will already know from previous books, everyone in Tassamara has some sort of psychic ability. Natalya has the ability of foresight, in other words, she can see the future.
In this story, we are introduced to Natalya and Colin. Colin is Natalya’s ex-partner. Ten years earlier, Natalya had a foresight vision of Colin’s death, which inadvertently caused the pair to part company. We see Colin return to Natalya’s life as things don’t happen the way they should.
A young girl is found, Colin is alive, and what happens next is both unexpected and amazing. Natalya realises that her gift isn’t always the most important thing in her life. Could her life change from here?
I did enjoy the story, and found that it got better towards the end. I did struggle to get into the story to start with, I found it hard going as there is quite a lot going on, however, I was definitely left wanting more.
As with the other stories, this is mixture between a romance and a paranormal story, with the paranormal outweighing the romance, making it a pleasant read without too many ‘soppy’ sections. The relationship formed between Natalya and the girl is heart-warming, and makes me think of my daughter and I.
